Get Reviewed!

This time, I’d like to share about a website that helps me so much this time in deciding which camera I should buy. A year ago, I refer to this website when I bought Canon Powershot A640. Few days ago, I sold my Canon A640 in order to be replaced by Canon EOS 400D and once again, I refer to this website. 

First, the layout of the website looks very cool, with black background, small sidebars which will expand when we put the mouse on one of the links there. The reviews/previews link is what I frequently visited besides the buying guide link. In the reviews/previews page, we will find a list of cameras which are already reviewed in this website, sorted in chronological order which is divided into two group: Reviews: Chronological, Recent (last 12 months) and Reviews: Chronological (older than 12 months). We can also pick one of the latest reviews directly from the sidebar menu which lists some latest reviewed cameras, and also page which shows the “by rating” reviews and “more”, which means we can choose which reviews we’d like to read (reviews main page).

When we choose one of the camera reviews – this time I choose EOS 400D review because this is the camera that I have bought three days ago – we will have some options in the main menu of the review page. They are: Introduction, Specifications, What’s new, Body & Design, Operation & Controls, Display, Menus, Timings & Sizes, Features, Software, Photographic Tests, Compared to, Conclusion, and Samples. Each option contains detailed explanation of the camera being reviewed, and the conclusion page consists of pro and cons conclusion which will give us quite detailed overview of the camera and whether the camera is highly recommended, or recommended with some suggestions.

What I like most of the review options page is the “compared to” menu which at that time, the comparison is between EOS 400D and Nikon D80 and (which I considered quite comparable). Last but not least, even Wikipedia does refer this website as their source of information. Great source of information for camera buyer or photography addict I think!
